The Lutece community is thrilled to count Budapest as a new member

The story started back in January this year when the City of Budapest sent a delegation to Paris to learn more about the Participatory Budgeting (PB) solution that was implemented, from an organizational point of view.

The Lutece team was then contacted to showcase the platform, and the Budapest PB team quickly stated they were willing to benefit from the solution and contribute back. A software engineer was hired and a few months later, on Oct. 1st, Budapest launches its own Participatory Budget.

In a few days, more than 64 citizen projects have been submitted to improve the living environment of the city's inhabitants.

The Ideas submissions phasis shall run until the end of the year. Then will come the voting and the realisations. As Deputy Mayor for Smart City and Participation Gábor Kerpel-Fronius sums it on Facebook.

That is, ideas come from city dwellers, the city helps with elaboration and screening, the city dwellers decide on the improvements to be implemented, and the city implements. Let Budapest be a little better thanks to your idea!

Lutece core and Open Participatory Budgeting plugins soon available in Hungarian

Because we all talk the Open Source and Collaboration language, the improvements and new development made on the plugins to fit Budapest needs will soon be available for free on the platform source code for all cities / governments / administrations to use and reuse.
