GHT 71 Saône-Et-Loire Bresse Morvan is a regional hospital grouping managing hospitals and eldercare homes. With the health crisis that we all know, visiting residents in medical facilities has become a challenge for the staff, but also for the residents who cannot remain isolated from their relatives.
Many appointment scheduling applications exist, especially for the medical sector, but it is Lutece, whose open source and public service values they share, that they have chosen to implement on a cloud architecture.
A few exchanges (demonstration, training) were enough for the establishment to set up a functional appointment scheduling system. Here is the testimony of the technical manager:
I discovered Lutece on comptoir-du-libre.org while looking for a tool allowing online appointment booking for the residents of the GHT's eldercare homes. The criteria of this research were the possibility to host the solution (no Saas mode to ensure the protection of personal data) and that the software is free. The appointment module of Lutece matches with these expectations.
The possibility to use a docker container has greatly facilitated its deployment. The tool allows a very complete graphical customization and this very easily because there are many options. Moreover, we can easily modify or add html code, which does not require high development skills. The end-users welcomed the tool very well because it is very easy to use and the requested functionalities are present (editing titles/messages, visitor notifications by email and text messages, etc). Throughout its integration and deployment, I could count on the project team of the city of Paris which accompanied me in this project and knew how to answer all my problems and questions.
