The City of Paris awarded Free Digital Territory
The city of Paris was once again rewarded for its service platform Lutèce. This time, the City was awarded a 4-star Territoire Numérique Libre (that can be translated by Free Digital Territory) label by the major associations of the Free Software industry Adullact, APRIL, CNLL, Aquinetic, AFUL and the DINSIC (IT Department of the French government) for its political commitment and its achievements.
The results were announced on Tuesday, November 6th, 2018, at an award ceremony held during the 1st B-Boost open source convention in Bordeaux, France. The evening started with a round table dedicated to the labeled communities (or in the process of being labeled). Matthieu ROUVEYRE (Gironde), Didier GALLAND (CA du Puy-en-Velay), Pierre LÉVY (city of Paris) and Daniel MARÉCHAL (city of Rennes) were present to talk about their approach in favour of open source, and the projects in progress within their community.
The evening continued with the awarding of the 2018 labels, presented by Benjamin JEAN, a lawyer who is very involved in the defence of open formats, President of the Association "Open Law, le droit ouvert" and founder of the company Inno3.
Among the new candidates, the city of Paris easily obtained level 4 and was awarded the highest total score, and the Grand Est region became the first region in France to be awarded this label. The city of Angoulême also obtains its first level 4 label.
A huge thank you to the members of the jury and organizers for their hospitality.
